Taroudant is sometimes referred to as 'little Marrakech', but that description doesn't do the center of commerce in the Souss Valley justice. Hidden by magnificent walls of red mud, and with the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas beckoning beyond, the souks and squares of Taroudannt have a wholesome sprinkling of Maghreb mystique. Just 65 km from Al-Massira airport, it is a more atmospheric staging post to/from the airport than Agadir.
